Virtual Learning and Tours

Our interactive Virtual Tour and lesson for schools and youth organizations is customizable for student and youth groups ranging from 3rd grade to 12th grade. Our education team, led by a California credentialed educator, is ready and able to modify content to best fit the needs of participating student groups.

These engaging virtual tours are unlike watching pre-recorded material! It is interactive and allows for a personalized session where students engage with our ship-based educators for synchronized learning, providing the best alternative to an in-person visit to the IOWA.

The Battleship IOWA History (WWII to 1990) Virtual Tour

The Battleship Virtual Tour includes a brief overview of US History and international conflicts via the Battleship IOWA’s involvement from WWII to 1990, as well as concepts of geography that are adapted to each age group accordingly. This engaging virtual tour is unlike watching pre-recorded material! It is interactive and allows for a personalized session where students engage with our ship-based educators for synchronized learning, providing the best alternative to an in-person visit to the IOWA

MEET YOUR EDUCATION MANAGER

Battleship IOWA’s education programs manager Rawan Moser spearheaded virtual programming for the institution in response to the increased demand for structured and synchronous learning as well as a synchronous learning in support of our community and teachers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moser is a passionate educator with diverse experience and extensive academic preparation. Moser holds a Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology from National University in San Diego and is a California credentialed educator. Moser earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University San Marcos, majoring in Political Science and Global Studies.

Moser held different teaching positions in the state of California and Texas to include: preschool teacher; special teaching assignments at the middle school level in science, math and language arts; and her most recent classroom experience is in the Social Studies subject area to include dynamic and inclusive classrooms in World History, U.S. History, U.S. Government and Economics.

One of Moser’s greatest strengths as an educator is building and developing positive relations with youth and educators while through integrating the latest in educational technology to fit students needs, interests and abilities.
