Camp Battleship:

Our overnight camp program allows youth groups the opportunity to spend an evening on board a vintage WWII battleship and experience life as a sailor. The overall tour introduces or reinforces STEM learning along with once-in-a-lifetime happenings such as chow on the mess decks, entertainment, and much more.

A night adventure on IOWA is one to remember!

Join Battleship IOWA Museum for an exciting night of fun with “Camp Battleship” at the LA Waterfront. The popular kids’ groups and scout overnight program is open year-round and includes a tour introduction to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) learning, chow on the mess decks, evening entertainment, and much more.

Youth groups include scouts, adventure guides, schools programs, and even kids sailing to Catalina for overnight excursions. “Camp Battleship” allows an evening of history-laden accommodations in the same sailor bunks our veterans have slept in throughout 20th-century history. With over 200 bunks available nightly, many of the IOWA’s compartments are sectioned to provide for a myriad of groups at the same time.

Campers will have a fun, memorable and educational experience!

Our “Camp Battleship” visitors will have a true immersive experience to the daily customs of US Navy sailors while having a fun evening on-board.

The naval adventure promotes history, science math and creates a lifetime of memories while visiting the Battleship IOWA Museum and the LA/San Pedro Harbor.
